BOARD MEETING

Date:    August 6^th, 2004

Time:    7:00pm – 8:30pm

Place:   Linlee Elementary Library

AGENDA

1. Boo Hoo Breakfast

    -Discussed what the boo hoo breakfast was for new PTA board members.

    -Julie Partington will bring the donuts, drinks, packs of tissues, napkins and cups.

    -Sharon Lawrence, Julie Partington and Pam Thompson will be in attendance to help out with the       

      boo hoo breakfast.

    -The breakfast will be held in the library.

    -Will have PTA cards available so parents can join.

2. PTA membership table at the school orientation

   -School orientation is August 12^th, 2004 5:30pm - 7:00pm

   -Discussed that the orientation would start in gym and then proceed to the student’s classroom.

   -PTA would have a membership table in the cafeteria.

   -Discussed types of giveaways to attract parents to table. Pam Thompson suggested giving away

    Linlee t-shirts. All members in attendance agreed with idea. Pam Thompson is responsible for

    creating a little raffle ticket for the free t-shirt give away.

   -Winners of the giveaway t-shirts will be sent home with the student

   -Julie Partington is responsible for creating the form for parents to complete who joined PTA.

   -Sharon Lawrence will create signs to place around table or on wall

3. Carnival Date

    - Friday October 15^th, 2004 5:30pm 7:00pm (this is a tentative date) held in the gym and cafeteria

4. Misc. Kids Day Sept. 28^th

    -Julie Partington’s ideas – take tray up to lunch counter for students during lunch

    -Sharon Anderson’s ideas – students like when parents are involved in school; volunteer

    -Melissa Lawrence’s ideas – make a banner for students

4. Audit Volunteers

    -Julie Partington asked the group for two volunteers to help with the PTA audit. Pam

      Thompson agreed to be one, will need another volunteer. Julie will contact volunteers to discuss

      when the audit needs to be done.

4. Misc. Next PTA Board Meeting

    -All agreed that the next PTA Board Meeting will be August 30^th, 2004 at 5:00pm
